Global head of stewardship, Hermes

Biography

Colin is global head of stewardship at Hermes Investment Management and, between 2004 and January 2016, was chief executive of Hermes EOS. He has been at the forefront of developments in corporate governance, sustainability and responsible investment for over 20 years and is an expert in the good management and direction of businesses. He is a qualified fund manager and member of the CFA Institute and was head of responsible investment at Baillie Gifford before joining Hermes in 2002. Colin is chair of the Social Stock Exchange, a business mentor at the Prince's Trust and visiting fellow at the ICMA Centre at the Henley Business School in the UK. He is also a board member of the Principles for Responsible Investment and a member of the 30% Club investor group. Colin holds an MA from Aberdeen University and an MPhil from Cambridge University, both in History, and Diplomas in Investment Analysis from Stirling University and Company Directorship from the Institute of Directors. He is a Chartered Director.

Biography

Edgar Hertwich is Professor of Industrial Sustainability, Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, Yale University in US. He is a member of the International Resource Panel, where he leads the Working Group on the Environmental Impacts of Products and Materials. Edgar has contributed to the IPCC 5th assessment report as a lead author of the energy systems chapter and the methods annex, as well as a contributor to the Technical Summary and the Summary for Policy makers. Further, he has contributed to the Global Energy Assessment. He is a member of the editorial board of Environmental Science & Technology, the Journal of Industrial Ecology, and the Journal of Economic Structures. His research interests cover climate mitigation, life cycle assessment, sustainable consumption and production, trade and environment, and risk analysis.

Biography

Satoshi Ando joined OMRON in 2007 as an Audit & Supervisory Board Member (full-time), he assumed Executive Officer, a head of Investor Relations Headquarters in 2011, and assumed current role in 2015. A member of a planning committee of Corporate Reporting Lab (since 2011) launched by The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), a member of Roundtable Discussion about Creating Integrated Report launched by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) Japan (since 2014), and a visiting scholar at Hitotsubashi Financial Leadership Program (since 2016). Before joining OMRON, he worked at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ. He earned his undergraduate degree in law from Keio University.
